What are the Engineers Australia requirements for a CDR Report?

Engineering Australia works to ensure that only qualified engineers are permitted to migrate to Australia. The CDR evaluation is mostly based on the undergraduate degree and documented graduate competencies.

  • Core technical engineering knowledge supporting the specified occupation.
  • The demonstrable application of that knowledge in the nominated field.

All of the work on the CDR must be your own. All typed components of the CDR must be completed in a word processor, and you should make a backup copy. Your CDR will be evaluated against graduate competency standards and the ANZSCO definition of the occupational group you choose.

To ensure this, EA has outlined immigration requirements in the Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) brochure, which may be found on the agency’s website. According to Engineers Australia, the following are the main prerequisites for skill assessment via the Competency Demonstration Report pathway.

  • Information about you, such as your birth certificate or passport.
  • Include information about your education and work experience in your current resume.
  • Evidence of English language proficiency(IELTS, TOEFL)
  • Certificates of education and enrollment, academic transcripts, and other documentation.
  • A letter of employment (s)
  • Three Career Episode
  • Summary Statement
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Steps in preparing a CDR

The flow chart below illustrates the procedures involved in preparing your CDR.

Personal information

Prepare your documentation: A passport-sized photo, primary identification, name change documentation, a CV/Resume, and English language test results.

Application information

Please choose your preferred occupational category and nominate it. You must select your desired engineering occupation and upload any evidence of your professional registration.

Education

Prepare academic certificates, transcripts, and any other documents that may be required.

You must submit your degree certificate, certified academic transcript, and additional supporting documents. All applicable supplementary qualifications must be offered if you have more than one engineering qualification. Please attach your enrolment letter and current transcript if you are currently enrolled in any official educational program. Please double-check that the name of the educational institution is typed correctly in upper and lower case letters.

Employment details

Applicants whose career episodes are based must submit proof of employment. Applicants must provide documentary evidence of work experiences, and if not in the English language, you have to translate it and give both translated and original documents. Ensure your translation is from the authorized translator.

Report

Here, you must prepare and submit your CPD report, three career episodes, and a summary statement. All the documents must be in the standard format and verified by authorized officials.

Submit

Once all of the above steps are completed, you have to submit all documents required by logging in myPortal and lodge a CDR application.

Conclusion

The education qualification, personal identification, and work details make up the initial portion of the prerequisites for Australian skills evaluation via the CDR pathway. However, the second stage, which entails the production of CDR documentation, is the most difficult. A CDR report comprises three Career Episodes, a Summary Statement, CPD, and the CV.

Three practical engineering projects, one each career episode or employment position, should be the basis of your CDR report.
